Fully committed to environmental sustainability
Axians UK actively implements a range of initiatives to reduce its environmental impact and promote responsible practices throughout our operations.
These are some of the specific activities, measures and commitments which we’ve identified that support the UN’s SDG7 – Affordable and clean energy, SDG9 – Industry, innovation and infrastructure, and SDG13 – Climate action

Renewable Energy
Axians UK has made significant progress in transitioning to renewable energy. We have replaced almost all of our fleet vehicles with fully electric ones, and we are currently reviewing the last vehicle, which produces approximately 2tCO2e per year, for replacement.
In addition, all our office locations in Axians UK have adopted green tariffs for their electricity contracts. Furthermore, we encourage our employees to switch their home energy provider to a green energy company. As a token of appreciation, employees who make the switch are rewarded with discounts and incentive perks.
Water Consumption
Although we lease our UK offices, Axians has made efforts to prioritise efficiency when investing in appliances. We have installed efficient hot and cold water dispensers, coffee machines, and dishwashers. Additionally, we make it a practice to ensure that the dishwashers are fully loaded before initiating the cleaning cycle.
Waste Management
Waste from Axians UK operations is relatively small, with paper, food waste and packaging making up most of the waste produced. However, we actively encourage our staff to reduce and recycle whenever feasible.
Responsible Recycling
Axians UK is committed to complying with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment recycling (WEEE) regulations of 2006. We invest in the collection, treatment, recovery, and environmentally sound disposal of WEEE in collaboration with the manufacturers of the products we sell. We also track and report the amount of WEEE collected, including it in our Scope 3 carbon emissions reporting.
When our own equipment reaches the end of its life cycle, we prioritise donating it to charity whenever possible to extend its usefulness. If equipment cannot be repaired, reused, or donated, we partner with an organisation that breaks it down into components or raw materials for reutilisation.
Financing Environmental Impact (Carbon credits)
Axians UK is dedicated to reducing both direct and indirect carbon emissions. While our primary focus is on proactive emissions reduction, we acknowledge that some unavoidable emissions may remain. In such cases, we will support carbon offsetting projects in alignment with the Oxford Principles for Net Zero. By investing in environmental initiatives, we aim to balance our carbon footprint and make a positive impact on local communities. Whenever feasible, we prioritise UK-based projects.
